For the second time since 2013, a research group with the participation of our parent company TRUMPF has won the German Future Prize (Deutscher Zukunftspreis). The renowned prize was awarded by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on 25 November 2020 in Berlin. We are pleased that TRUMPF, together with the ZEISS Group and the Fraunhofer IOF Institute, has been selected from a strong field of applicants. TRUMPF herewith repeats its impressive innovation leadership in the high-tech sector. The new EUV lithography is a manufacturing technology with enormous potential in the production of state-of-the-art smartphones and in the field of automated driving. Particularly a high-power laser that works with extremely ultraviolet light (so called “EUV”) is relevant in this case, i.e. with an extremely short wavelength.

We congratulate the award winners and the entire EUV team and are pleased that TRUMPF is promoting the research and development of future-oriented technologies and transforms them into industrial product solutions.
