INGENERIC strengthens its commitment to sustainable production

At INGENERIC, sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate philosophy. Assuming economic and ecological responsibility plays an important role in this.

Two key aims of our sustainability strategy are to reduce the amount of energy used in the manufacture of our products and to increase the use of renewable energies. By using state-of-the-art technologies and advanced production processes, we strive not only to conserve resources but also to minimize our ecological footprint.

By implementing company-specific energy-saving measures, we have been able to save 8.8% electricity (46 tons of CO²) and 16.9% gas (18.3 tons of CO²) in the last two years. Our cumulative CO² savings therefore amount to 64.3 tons of CO². In addition to the economic benefits – also for our customers – we are thus helping to conserve resources and protect the environment.

In the future, we will continue to continuously assess the possibility of reducing our energy use and invest in the use of environmentally friendly energy sources to ensure that our manufacturing processes are in line with environmentally friendly standards. We have committed to reducing our emissions (Scope 1+2) at our company site in Baesweiler (Aachen region) by 4.2% per year by 2030 – including at least 1.5% electricity and 3% gas each year.

As part of our climate strategy, INGENERIC is also working closely with specialist planners to examine the possibility of investing in heat recovery to increase energy efficiency in production and installing solar systems to secure the energy supply at our company site.

Since 2016, INGENERIC has implemented an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 for the development and production of micro-optics, optical systems and laser systems. We strive to continuously identify further potential savings through systematic energy management in order to actively shape our path to carbon neutrality.
