At INGENERIC, we firmly anchor sustainability in our corporate philosophy. Assuming economic and ecological responsibility plays an important role in this.

Two key objectives of our sustainability strategy are reducing energy consumption in the manufacture of our products and increasing the use of renewable energy. By using state-of-the-art technologies and advanced production processes, we aim not only to conserve resources, but also to minimise our ecological footprint.

By implementing company-specific measures in line with the Energy Saving Ordinance, we were able to save 8.8% electricity (46 tonnes of CO²) and 16.9% gas (18.3 tonnes of CO²) over the past two years. Our cumulative CO² savings therefore amount to 64.3 tonnes of CO². In addition to the economic benefits – also for our customers – we are thus contributing to resource conservation and environmental protection.

In the future, we will continue to review opportunities to reduce our energy consumption and invest in the use of environmentally friendly energy sources to ensure that our manufacturing processes are in line with environmentally sound standards. We have committed to reducing our emissions (Scope 1+2) at our company site in Baesweiler (Aachen city region) by 4.2% per year by 2030 – including at least 1.5% electricity and 3% gas each year.

As part of our climate strategy, INGENERIC is also closely coordinating with specialist planners to assess the possibility of investing in heat recovery to increase energy efficiency in production, as well as installing solar systems to secure the energy supply at our company site.

Since 2016, INGENERIC has implemented an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 for the scope of development and production of micro-optics, optical systems and laser systems. We strive to continuously identify further savings potential through systematic energy management, thereby actively shaping our path to CO² neutrality.
